Wildcat boys down Huskies, 67-58

cm-basketballLEWISTOWN — The Central Mountain boys basketball team came out with a hot hand at Mifflin County Friday night, riding Kyle Everhart’s 29 points to a 67-58 non-league win over the host Huskies.

The victory left Central Mountain at 4-1 on the season, Mifflin County dropping to 2-6. The contest started a busy and challenging stretch for the Wildcats: a Monday afternoon home game with 5-2 Huntingdon; a Wednesday evening home game with 6-3 Williamsport and an early season Heartland Conference showdown next Friday, Jan. 6 with Selinsgrove (5-2).

Central Mountain hit 11 three-pointers on the night at Mifflin County, led by Everhart’s six. The Wildcats put up 24 points in the second quarter to take a 36-20 halftime lead. Everhart hit three treys in the period, Isaiah McCann and Wyatt Bumbarger also with 3-pointers.

Mifflin County pulled to within three at 48-45 early in the fourth quarter but Everhart responded with back-to-back three-pointers to open things back up for the visitors.
