Wildcats Edged by Hollidaysburg 61-54

cm-basketballHOLLIDAYSBURG – After a hot start in the first half, the Central Mountain (3-1, 2-0) offense faltered in the second half and came up short, 61-54 to District 6 rival, Hollidaysburg.

The Wildcats scored consistently in the first half led by Kyle Everhart with 15 if his 19 total points, including 9 points from downtown, and Wyatt Bumbarger added 12 of his game total 16 from outside the arc in the first half. CM led the hosts 34-29.

In the second half the Golden Tigers stepped up their defense and chipped away at the Wildcat lead using some very well executed foul shooting to go 15-18 from the line that was the difference maker to secure the victory.

Brody Baker scored 11 points including two 3-pointers in the third quarter while Justin Neff tallied 5 points in the contest with Matt Storeman adding 3 more.

Next up for Central Mountain will take a little time off for the Christmas holiday and get back into action with another District 6 road trip to Mifflin County on Friday, Dec. 30, 2017. The Wildcats will also host Huntingdon on Monday, Jan. 2, 2017 with the JV game slated for noon and the varsity contest to follow at 1:30 p.m.
