Ray Long, 81, of North Bend passed away Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born November 17, 1935 in Renovo, he was the son of the late Joseph and Marie Keller Long.

He was married to the former Gail Gentzyel, who survives at home.

Ray was employed by Smith Logging and Excavation, Farwell.

He was a member of the Renovo American Legion, Post 442 and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Lodge 334.

Ray enjoyed nature, especially fishing, camping, and taking rides through the country.  Most important to him, though, was the time he spent with his family.

In addition to his wife, Gail Long, he is survived by five children: Cindy (Bob) Probst of North Bend, Brenda (Tim) Brown of Beaver, Brian Long of Maryland, Tracy Shady of North Bend, and Paul (Deb) Risley of North Bend; his sister-in-law, Ethel Long of North Bend; grandchildren: Ben Ott, Cameron, Forrest, and Luke Brown, Nikolas and Constance Long, Patrick Shady, and Shawna, Colton, Hailey, and Paul, II Risley; and five great grandchildren.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by an infant son, Lenny Long; two brothers, Joseph and Calvin Long; and a granddaughter, Christiana Long.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Moriarty Funeral Home & Crematory, 112 E. Church St., Lock Haven.
