Louise Swartz Regis transitioned into eternal life on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at the Manor Care Home of Camp Hill.

She was born March 26, 1923 in Lock Haven and was the daughter of William and Nell Swartz.

Louise graduated from Lock Haven High School in 1940.  She then graduated from Lock Haven Teachers College in 1944.

Her 37 year teaching career began in a one room school house in Leidy Township near Cross Fork.  She taught grades one thru six in the old school house for fifteen years until its closing in 1961.  She then went on to teach elementary grades at the Renovo Elementary School until her retirement in 1983.  She always enjoyed visiting with her past students when she met them around town.

Louise was kind, generous and easy to get along with.

She enjoyed reading and tending to her home and yard.

She especially enjoyed taking care of many pets throughout the years.

Louise was a member of Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church, Renovo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Regis, as well as her son, Jimmy, and grandson, Scott Derr.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen and her husband, Gregory Derr of Camp Hill; her son, Thomas Regis and his wife, Shelley of Leesport; and four grandchildren: Brandon Derr, Ashley Derr Garcia, Andrew Regis, and Nicole Regis.

A Memorial Service will be held at Saint Joseph’s Cemetery Chapel, Hyner, on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at 1 P.M. with Rev. Father Joseph Orr officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Louise’s name may be made to Saint Josephs’ Catholic Church, 925 Huron Ave., Renovo, Pa 17764.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington.
