CM outpaced by Wellsboro 3-0

cm-volleyballBALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – It was another tough night for Lady Wildcat volleyball, this time falling 3-0 to visiting Wellsboro. The loss brings Central Mountain to 2-5 on the season.

The Lady ‘Cats were dealt a tough blow with senior, Elaina Eckley suffering an ankle sprain during warmups which severe enough to preclude her from playing.

Though CM regrouped and played hard, Wellsboro was playing with a bit more intensity and consistency outpacing the hosts 25-9 in the first game then the Lady Hornets then doubled up on Central Mountain 25-13 in game 2.

The Lady ‘Cats stepped up their effort in game 3 keeping pace with Wellsboro for most of the game though Wellsboro inched ahed to pull out a 25-18 victory.

Defensively, Vanessa Soo was credited with 6 kills while Maegan Miller recorded 11 digs with Makenna Bittner adding 6, Madison Myers with 5 and Kelsie Buckwalter with 4 digs.

Offensively Madalyn Bashore had 9 assists while Jenni Skow had 3 aces and Bittner had 2.

The Lady Wildcats will host Penns Valley on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016.
