Charles David Gilmore, III, 69, of 1024 Mackeyville Rd., Mill Hall, died on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at his home.

Born March 27, 1947 in Lock Haven Hospital, he was the son of the late C. David Gilmore, Jr. and Sara Gilmore Gehret, who survives.

On August 17, 1969 he married his high school sweetheart, Donna Overdorf, who survives.

Dave was a graduate of the former Bald Eagle Nittany High School and a 1969 graduate of Lock Haven University, obtaining a Bachelor Degree of Science in Education.

He taught science courses at Curtin Junior High School in Williamsport and at the former Bald Eagle Nittany High School, retiring from Central Mountain Middle School with a combined 40 years of teaching and coaching. His passions were coaching, football, kayaking, fishing and his beautiful grandson and loving family.

Dave was an active member and treasurer of Mill Hall Kiwanis, a board member and treasurer of Cedar Hill Cemetery and served on the Planning Commission in Lamar Township.

In addition to his mother, Sara, and wife of 47 years, Donna, he is survived by two sons, David of Marina Del Rey, CA and Bradley (Jenn) and grandson, Brayden, of Etters, Pa; two loving sisters, Gail (Charlie) Gephart of Mill Hall and Terry (John) Kriner of Smethport; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of the Life of Dave Gilmore will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2016 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Haywoods on the Green, 43 Fairway View Dr., Mill Hall, Pa 17751.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cedar Hill Cemetery Association, c/o Denny Mann, 29 Stable Lane, Mill Hall, Pa 17751.
