James L. McMahon
James L. “Jim” McMahon, 70, of South Renovo, died Sunday, August 28, 2016 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Jim was born on October 25, 1945 in Ridgeway and was the son of the late Leo and Ruth (Anderson) McMahon.

He was a graduate of the Bucktail High School Class of 1963. Following school Jim enlisted in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War where he earned the rank of Sergeant.

Jim was employed by Rockview State Prison, State College as a correctional officer for over 25 years.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Renovo, the Elks Club, the American Legion and the VFW. He was a past member of the West Branch Volunteer Fire Department.
Jim loved hunting and fishing.

He is survived by one sister and brother-in-law; Margaret C. and Robert “Bob” Hine, Sr. of Shamokin, several nieces and nephews and a close family friend; Dave Dale of Emporium.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by one brother; Basil Huff and one sister; Maxine Kepler.

A public viewing will be held from 6–8 p.m., Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at the Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth Street, Renovo and again from 10-11 a.m., Thursday, September 01, 2016 at the funeral home followed by the funeral at 11 a.m. with Father Donald Dusza of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Renovo officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hyner with full military honors.
