Keystone 8-11 All-Stars Advance with 12-2 Win over Williamsport Area

key-base-logoWILLIAMSPORT – It was another workman like performance by the Keystone 9-11 All-Stars in their 12-2, four inning win over Williamsport Area.

Keystone opened up the game holding an aggressive Williamsport club to just one run then turned to their bats to bunch together 7 runs with two hits, two walks and two errors to hold a comfortable 7-1 lead after one full inning.

Keystone added two more runs in the second inning coming off the bat of Blaze King which also brought home Matt Conklin who earned a walk just before the hit.

Then Keystone duplicated this second inning effort plating two more runs in the third inning to hold a 11-1 lead heading into the fourth inning.

Not to be taken lightly, Williamsport battled back and was patient in the batter’s box and took advantage of a base hit and three consecutive walks to score another run to prevent the 10-run rule from kicking in.

After retiring the side, Keystone made short order of the contest with Brayden Blackwell and Ben Herrick stroking out base hits to end the contest early for the 12-2 score.

On the mound, Ashton Probst pitched 3 innings with one strikeout and 2 walks. Then Matt Conklin was called upon to close out the game striking out 2 and walking 3 in the effort.

Joining the Hit Parade were: Blaze King a homer; Chase Brush and Matt Conklin both had a pair of singles to their credit while Brayden Blackwell, Ben Herrick and Ashton Probst all had base hits for Keystone.

Keystone will next face Montoursville, a 16-5 winner over Muncy tonight, in the winner’s bracket final at Montoursville on Monday, July 11, 2016 at 6 p.m.
