Stealing Home Nets 1-0 Win for Keystone over Williamsport Area

key-base-logoLOYALSOCK TOWNSHIP – The Keystone 9-10 All-Stars defeated Williamsport 1-0 to advance to the District 12 winners bracket final Sunday, July 3, 2016 2 p.m. vs. Loyalsock at East Lycoming.

Keystone was lead by a dominant performance by Braylen Corter who threw 5 1/3 innings, giving up 1 hit and striking out 10 with no walks.

Levi Schlesinger closed out the final 2/3 of the top of 6th inning, striking out both batters he faced.

Williamsport matched zeros though 5 innings when starter Makai Day was pitched out at the end of 5. Makai gave up 0 runs, off 1 hit, no walks, and 6 strikeouts.

Connor Foltz who collected the only 2 Keystone hits of the game, lead off the bottom of the 6th with a single to right centerfield. He advanced to second base on a ground out by Brady Myers.

With Braylen Corter at the plate with 1 out and 2 strikes, Connor advanced to 3rd base on a passed ball and broke for home when he noticed the catcher could not find the ball. Connor slid under the tag to score winning run to end the game.

Indigo Koch suffered the loss for Williamsport who will play Montoursville tomorrow, July 2 in an elimination game at Old Lycoming at 11am.
