Tom “Dandy Fine” Walker, 99, of Flemington died Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Susque View Home, Lock Haven.

Born February 2, 1917 Tom was one of 17 children born to Goldie Mae and John D. “Pat” Walker of Flemington.

Tom served in the Army in WWII. He held many jobs over the course of his lifetime, beginning with caddying as a youngster and ending up with a job he loved the most, working at Claster Lumber Company in Lock Haven, retiring when they started to open on Sundays.

He married the love of his life, Ina Forsht on April 27, 1940 and they had celebrated 71 years of marriage prior to her death in 2011. He was a long time member St. Luke’s United Church of Christ. Tom enjoyed hunting and staying at the Walker and the Maggs hunting camps. His greatest joy was spending time with family and friends.

Tom and Ina danced their way to fame in a TV commercial for Kudos snack bars. Dancing at the Elks and their grandchildren’s weddings and wherever the opportunity presented itself was always a favorite pastime. They were also well-known for winning the Pennsylvania lottery in the spring of 1985.

In addition to his wife and parents, Tom was also preceded in death by 14 siblings.

He is survived by his four children and their spouses: Dave and Kay (Best)Walker of Kutztown, PA; Stan and Sue (Rafetto)Walker of West Chester, PA; Jim “Rock” and Sally (Helies) Walker of Woodbry, CT; and Beth and Pat O’Connor of State College, PA; 8 grandchildren and their families, including 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two siblings, Patsy Hummer and Billy Lee Walker and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington on Sunday, July 3, 2016 at 2:30 P.M. with Rev. Patty Dodds officiating.

Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service.
