Clinton Foiled by South in D12 Opener

clinton-sb-logoLOCK HAVEN – District 12 Little League Softball 11-12 All-Star play got underway with Clinton Hosting South in first round action here Sunday.

Clinton was tied with South 2-2 heading into the fourth inning where the hosts faltered giving up 6 runs that gave South a 8-2 lead.

South added another three runs in the fifth and single run in the sixth to round out their scoring while Clinton battled back for a pic of run in the last inning but fell short losing 12-5.

Leading the way in the batter’s box for Clinton, Lexi Strouse, Savannah Kelley, and Shawna Heverly all had triples, while Ellie Dershem, Jordan Burrows, Ally Ruble, and Ali Lucas all contributed singles on the day.

Kalie Rupert started at in the circle for Clinton working into the fourth inning with Emma Poorman relieving for the remainder of the game.

Next up, Clinton will face an opponent to be determined in Elimsxport on Saturday, June 25 at 11 a.m.
