BEECH CREEK – The Beech Creek Memorial Day parade has been a long standing tradition for many area residents. Folks of all ages march and view the parade as we honor those who serve and have served their country. It’s a joyous occasion as we celebrate our veterans and armed forces and also usher in the summer season.
Hundreds marched and rode in floats and other vehicles in the warm morning sunshine and were greeted by hundreds more onlookers along the parade route.
Many area churches, scouts, youth and Little League ball teams participated as well as many area civic groups. Firefighters from across the county were on hand flashing their lights sounding their bells and sirens in celebration of the holiday.
And as in most election years, candidates and current office holders from both major political parties also were on hand.
