drugs-1RENOVO – Law enforcement officials continued their drug sweep through Clinton County today, again the emphasis on Renovo.

Officers from the Vice and Narcotics Unit from Troop F Montoursville were pouring through Renovo and South Renovo this afternoon, going into residences and making arrests. While full particulars on those apprehended won’t be available until the sweep is over, authorities called the crackdown “Operation Reclaim Renovo.”

Corporal Brad Eisenhower coordinated today’s Renovo area sweep. He called the borough “a cesspool for crack cocaine.”

He said some 18 warrants were in use in the county as part of today’s raids, 12 in the Renovo area and another six or so in the Lock Haven – Mill Hall area where he said additional arrests were made.

therecord-online saw two Renovo residents placed in custody: Jeanine Mace of 14th St. and Amy Wybieracki (in handcuffs in front of her residence) of 130 13th St. Charges against them were to be released later.

Eisenhower said the massive police presence came after an investigation begun a year ago. He said the recent police moves in Renovo were “due to the aggressive work of Renovo officer-in-charge Mike Jeffries.” He called Jeffries “the best thing to happen to this town.”

Eisenhower also made a pointed statement to drug users and distributors across the county: “We will continue to identify, investigate and have you prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Our advice to you: find legitimate employment or leave Clinton County.”

He was heard telling two alleged drug dealers he saw during the police action, “Get out of town or we will arrest you.” The Renovo action began about 1 p.m. and a stop was also made in South Renovo. Law enforcement crews were in use on both 13th and 14th Sts. and then moved on to Erie Avenue. They were awaiting a search warrant there to continue their probe in an upstairs apartment.

Asked the impact of the recent emphasis on drug use in Renovo, Eisenhower said the goal is shut down the drug trafficking, at least for a short time. He said that the cocaine comes into Renovo from Philadelphia and Baltimore, often by way of Williamsport.
