Joan Marie Redis – Obituary

SOUTH RENOVO – Joan Marie (Jern) Redis, 83, of South Renovo went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Bucktail Medical Center, South Renovo.

She was born September 16, 1932 in Sagamore, PA the daughter of the late Paul and Hulda (Isaacson) Jern of Bitumen. On October 15, 1955 she was united in marriage to Paul T. “Pip” Redis who passed away May 4, 2004.

She enjoyed music, flowers, and watching birds in her yard.

Joan was an avid Eagles and Yankees fan. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by a daughter Paula (Edward) Finnefrock of North Bend a son Jerry (Faye) Redis of Bitumen, three grandsons Keith (Jennifer) Redis, Lance Finnefrock and his fiancé Jenessa Olson and Patrick (Candace) Redis, two granddaughters Janeanne Brooks and Colette Finnefrock and her fiancé Douglas Meredith and six great grandchildren Aaron, Bryce, Zadrin, Maizie, Cason and Trevor.

She is also survived by a sister-in-law Vyrel Jern and a godchild Joannie Newcamp, a son-in-law Gordon Starks. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

A daughter Doreen Starks, a sister Doris, a brother Paul and also a grandson Eric preceded Joan in death.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Zion Lutheran Church, 1100 Huron Ave., Renovo with the Rev. John Harwood officiating.

Friends and relatives will be received one hour prior to the service.

A luncheon will be held at the church hall following the interment at North Bend Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Bucktail Medical Center or Zion Lutheran Church.
