‘Cats Blast Mifflinburg 77-61

cm-basketballMIFFLINBURG – Central Mountain seems to be back on track to their winning ways picking up their second consecutive Heartland Conference handing Mifflinburg a 77-61 loss on the road to move their record to 12-7.

The scoring was tight in the first period with CM holding only a 2 point lead (15-13) after one quarter. The The Wildcats picked up the pace in the second period, doubling up on Mifflinburg 26-13 for a 41-26 lead at the break. That effort would prove the difference maker of the night.

Then Central Mountain just maintained the pressure extending their lead to to 62-43 heading into the final quarter where Mifflinburg tried to battle back (19-15) though the deficit was just too much to overcome.

It was another balanced attack by Central Mountain with nearly every member of the squad contributing to the offense.

Wyatt Bumbarger exposed for 21 points (including 3, three pointers from outside the arc.) Kyle Everhart added 14 (12 points from downtown). With Brody Baker, 9 points; Alex Garbrick, 8; Cole Reeder, 7 and Landon Breon, 6. Justin Neff drained 4 points while Cordell Muthler, Tyler Zablocki, Nick Carpenetti and Wyatt Koch scored two points each.

Next up is a home contest with Hearland Conference leader, Shikellamy (15-3) Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016.
