LHU Falls at Bucknell 24-13
Friday’s Match with George Mason Postponed
LEWISBURG – Bobby Rehm (Lancaster, Pa./Penn Manor) picked up his 99th career win and was one of four Bald Eagles to win tonight, but the Lock Haven University wrestling team (6-7) fell to local-rival Bucknell (5-4), 24-13.
Rehm moved one step closer to joining LHU’s 100-win club, as he picked up a dominating 13-2 major decision over Grimaldi Gonzalez.
Dan Neff (Quarryville, Pa./Solanco), Aaron McKinney (McDonald, Pa./West Allegheny) and Phil Sprenkle (Seven Valleys, Pa./Dallastown) also won for Lock Haven.
Neff kept his winning streak going with a hard-fought 8-6 win over Victor Lopez. Neff is now 11-0 since returning to 149 pounds on December 17.
Bucknell led 4-0 after picking up a major decision at 125, but Rehm’s victory at 133 quickly tied the dual at 4-4.
The Bald Eagles took a 10-8 lead after Neff (149) and McKinney (157) picked up back-to-back wins.
Following McKinney’s win, the Bison rattled off three straight victories on the way to the win.
The Bald Eagles Eastern Wrestling League (EWL) match scheduled for tomorrow (Friday, January 22) at George Mason has been posted because of a blizzard warning in effect, starting tomorrow afternoon in the Fairfax, Virginia area.
