Wildcats Hand Mifflinburg 70-55 Loss (Video Report)

cm-basketballBALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – After a quick start followed by tight competition for most of the contest, Central Mountain pulled it all together in the fourth quarter to rally a 70-15 win over visiting Mifflinburg.

The host, Wildcats opened up scoring easily and playing with confidence until Mifflinburg matched their intensity and stiffened their defense only trailing Central Mountain 15-12 after one quarter.

From that point on the game was played rather evenly with neither team managing to pull away and had CM holding on to a 27-26 advantage at the half.

In the third quarter it was more of the same with both teams working hard to find an advantage over the other … to no avail. The score was knotted at 45-all after three periods.

Then in the fourth quarter, the ‘Cats found their stride. Central Mountain was winning more rebounds at both ends of the court, converting most into scoring opportunities. Then as the clock became a factor, Mifflinburg discovered that fouling the hosts was not a wise plan as CM went 11-17 from the foul line. In all, Central Mountain outscored Mifflinburg 25-10 in the final stanza for the win.

Leading the charge offensively for the wildcats were: Alex Garbrick, 27; (3 baskets from 3-point range) Kyle Everhart 19, (including 15 points from downtown) and Brody Baker with 9 points.

Rounding out the scoring was: Cole Reeder 6, Tyler Zamlocki 4, Wyatt Bumbarger and Justin Neff each scoring 2 points and Wyat Koch added 1.

Next up for the Wildcats is another road trip to Shamokin on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015.
