Christmas Concert Dec. 6 …

The Renovo Area Community Choir will hold its annual Christmas Concert at St. Joseph’s Church Sunday, Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. everyone is welcome. The choir has been busy practicing for the concert in recent weeks and some of the songs in this year’s concert are absolutely beautiful. While the Christmas shopping season gets underway in November, the Christmas concert, for me anyway, is when the Christmas mood begins. The time you begin to look forward to Christmas.

Save the date …

The St. Joseph’s Catholic Daughter’s of the Americas will hold their annual holiday bazaar in the church social room November 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The bazaar is one of the “Must Do” Events of the season. Some of the highlights of the bazaar will be the cookies galore and delicious baked goods, the good food including hamburgers, hot dogs and sloppy joes, the homemade soups, the yard sale table and the always popular selection of theme baskets. There will also be locally made crafts (donations of any crafts will be appreciated) and the Rada knives. There is also a Christmas tree decorating contest Santa is expected to stop by for a visit from Santa.

Wanted: Your decorating expertise …

Hey Red Hat Ladies, Renovo Women’s Clubs, Scout troops and other organizations; you are all invited to test your decorating skills by decorating a Christmas Tree for the St. Joseph’s Christmas Bazaar. There are monetary prizes at stake. Bazaar guests will choose the winners by dropping a donation in the cans of their choice. The prizes are $50 for first prize, $25 for the second place and $25 for the third place winner. For more information on when to decorate the tree contact Marg at 923-2030 or Mary Ann at 923-1298.

Motorcyclists express appreciation …

Western Clinton County Recreation Center was the recipient of an expression of appreciation for the recreational opportunities available in this area. The Endless Mountains Association of Renovo and the Brandywine Enduro Riders joined together and donated $500 donation to the recreation center. Both Chris Moore of the Renovo group and Bob Stuart of the Brandywine group said this area proves ideal for annual enduro cycle races.

Rumor has it …

Rumor has it, not a clue if it’s true, but rumors abound about the possibilities to come in Renovo if the Renovo Energy Center becomes a reality. And, while there’s nothing carved in stone about the energy center yet, there is a definite feeling the public is looking forward to having the company here. The public turnout was greater than expected at a recent open house to introduce the company and provide information about it.
