WILLIAMSPORT — Tens of thousands of people jammed downtown Williamsport Wednesday evening for the annual Grand-Slam Little League parade, the kickoff to the annual Little League World Series which begins play on Thursday.

And this year’s parade had a distinct Clinton County flavor. Participants included a delegation from the Keystone Little League and its Mid-Atlantic championship squad from 2011. Riding in the float were players Brandon Miller, Mitchell Smith and Landon Breon and the 2011 coaching staff, head coach Bill Garbrick and assistants Chip Miller and Justin Kline.

There were also two Clinton County dance groups among parade participants.

Meanwhile Little League has announced that free tickets will be available Friday morning for a Friday first-round game between Pennsylvania champion Red Land and Missouri champion Webb City. The two regional champs are to meet at 8 p.m. at Lamade Stadium in South Williamsport.

Little League said because of the anticipated large demand for grandstand seats, tickets will be made available starting at 9 a.m. Friday at the will-call window at Lamade Stadium. They will be issued one-per-person until the supply is gone.
