Construction Set to Begin

LOCK HAVEN — The components have arrived for the Lock Haven Catholic School expansion. Six delivery trucks visited the Water St. site today to unload the material to be part of the addition at the south end of the existing school. Construction/assembly from employees of M & R Contracting is to begin next week. School supporters are seeking to raise $1.5 million to complete the project.

The addition will provide two classrooms, restroom facilities, a kitchen area and a multi-purpose room. The harsh winter delayed site preparation work but school officials anticipate the 10,000 square foot addition will be completed by the start of the next school year. Lock Haven Catholic this year added a seventh grade class for the first time and has announced plans to add an eighth grade for the next school year, making the school a combined elementary and middle school facility.
