Central Mountain’s Buckwalter Resigns

cm-wrestlingBALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP — Doug Buckwalter, the high school wrestling coach with the most wins in Clinton County history, has resigned his position at Central Mountain High School.

Buckwalter told his coaching staff at a meeting yesterday and gathered his most recent team together this morning to inform them of his decision. While the longtime Wildcat coach was not available for immediate comment, he had told those close to the program he had been considering resigning the last couple years so he could devote more time to family responsibilities.

Buckwalter and his wife Sherri have three children, Tyler, in his fourth year at Kent State; Blaze, his second year at Lock Haven University; and Kelsie, a freshman at Central Mountain High School.

Buckwalter’s final team went 13-1 this year and won the District 6, Heartland Conference and Big Seven championships.
