CM Baseball Wins Opener at Midd-West

cm-baseballBEAVER SPRINGS — The Central Mountain baseball team got the 2015 season off to a solid start, riding a combined 5-hitter from Caleb Seyler and Zach Skrtich on the way to a 5-1 Monday win at Midd-West High School.

The seniors Seyler and Skritich kept the Mustangs in check, holding the home team to no earned runs while striking out a combined 11 batters. Skrtich on in relief was particularly effective in pitching two hitless innings, striking out five of the six batters he faced.

The Wildcats finished with seven hits, including a 2-run homer from Skrtich. Talon Falls had a 2-for-2 day with two RBIs while catcher Isaac Porter added two singles; other hits came from Alex Garbrick, a double, and a single from Wyatt Koch who also stole two bases.

Central Mountain returns to play Wednesday at Bellefonte, weather permitting, game time 4:30 p.m.
