County Signs on SEDA-COG
For Renovo Improvements
LOCK HAVEN — The Clinton County Commissioners have retained the services of the SEDA-Council of Governments to seek an outside grant to assist Renovo in its revitalization efforts.
The commissioners last Thursday approved a contract with the regional planning agency to do the application work for Community Development Block Grant monies.
The commissioners’ action follows a recent sit-down with county planning staff and representatives from the Lewisburg-based regional economic development agency.
Up to $750,000 in the state grant program is being sought; local officials hope to package those dollars with other programs, including state PennVest money for infrastructure improvements and PennDOT-funded roadway improvements.
Renovo borough council members Patty Rauch and Ann Tarantella were present at the meeting. The commissioners lauded the ongoing Renovo effort to refurbish the town.
Previously SEDA-COG’s William C. Seigel said Renovo has already done some of the ground work to meet the grant requirements, including meeting regulations relative to low-to-moderate income.
