Local Gymnasts Compete at States

MOON TOWNSHIP – The 2015 PA Classic Championships/PIAA State Competition was held this past weekend at Moon High School. Five local high school gymnasts competed for their respective schools.
Each gymnast had to qualify with five scores out of six meets for their division. The divisions are Bronze, Silver, Gold and Diamond with Diamond being the highest division.

From Bucktail High School Hannah Bowes competed in the Silver Division in the All Around taking eighth on vault (8.5), eleventh on beam (8.075) and seventh in the all-around (32.575).

From Central Mountain High School Jessica Hefferan competed in the Bronze Division in the All Around taking a third on beam (7.65), ninth on floor (8.075) and seventh in the All Around (30.167). Tori May competed in the Silver Division in the All Around placing 28th on beam (7.4), and 32nd in the All Around with a 29.533. Mary Ballat competed in the Gold Division placing 10th on beam (8.2) and 15th in the All Around (33.033).

From Marantha Mission Learning Community Courtney Brittan competed in the Silver Division on vault and floor taking 30th on floor (8.0) and 35th on vault (8.00).
These five gymnasts compete for the Lock Haven Area YMCA gymnastic team and have Championships coming up Saturday, March 7, 2015 at the Hollidaysburg Area YMCA.
