CASTANEA TOWNSHIP – The Lock Haven Veterans of Foreign Wars Bland J. Rossman Post 1630 is looking at buying the Greystone Café on E. Water St. as the veterans groups’ new home.
The Castanea Township supervisors have scheduled a public hearing for Thursday, Feb. 12 to hear from the community. The hearing will be held at 6 p.m. in the township municipal building on Nittany Road. The supervisors would have to give their approval for transfer of the post’s liquor license from the old location in downtown Lock Haven into the township.

The previous post building, at Church and Grove Streets, was destroyed in a $400,000 fire last June. Post officials said the Greystone location would provide adequate parking and also allow for future expansion.
